This is a short film about MMCTA founder Bryant Austin’s efforts to compose and produce high resolution life-size photographs of whales to share in whaling nations and beyond. The images are stunning and some have taken Austin over 300 hours to produce, between free diving with the whales and time in the studio piecing together the images.

Bryant Austin, founder of Marine Mammal Conservation Through the Arts (MMCTA), also has a unique vision to raise awareness and protect these giant sea creatures. Austin has dedicated his time to producing high resolution, to-scale photographs of whales and presenting them to nations that still actively hunt whales in a way they haven’t been before. The idea being that if the people of whaling nations can connect with whales the way Austin does through his photographs, then they will feel empathy for the whales and be more sensitive to the destructive effects of whaling. His dedication to this cause is inspiring.

The film was produced through the non-profit organization Marine Mammal Conservation Through the Arts (MMCTA). MMCTA continues to raise funds to allow Bryant to accomplish his goal of documenting ten endangered whale species.
